West leaders head west for 5 game road trip
The Wild continued its impressive start on Friday night with a 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils. Now they set there sights on another under achieving team, the Anaheim Ducks. Bruce Boudrou is behind the bench in his second game after replacing Randy Carlyle, who won a cup with the Ducks in 2007. A feat Boudrou failed to accomplish with a heavily talented roster in Washington. Before the coaching move there were trade rumors involving star power forward Bobby Ryan. Those seemed to be put to rest when boudrou stepped in. None the less The Wild need another forward and you can’t help but think about a talent like Ryan being added to the roster. The Ducks have some serious talent to climb out of the whole they are in (currently second to last in the west) with the likes of Ryan, Ryan Getzlaf, Teemu Selanne and last seasons MVP Corey Perry. It will have to happen soon however with a conference as deep as the West.
Nick Backstrom will sit out after tweaking his groin during the first period of Fridays game vs. the Devils. Cal Clutterbuck is expected to play after sitting out the last game with a thigh contusion.
