(Fangsbites) Yesterday, it was discovered through a sharp-eyed web user that ESPN had a special comment section for anyone to criticize its female announcers. The Gawker-owned website Jezebel was tipped off and subsequently broke the story. Apparently the comment section was part of a viewer response form to deal with the complaints that ESPN received when it first assigned women to call play-by-play for college football. The section on that form was put up so all the complaints could remain in one place.

Seems to me like a legitimate complaint section to have… not once have I heard someone say, “man, Pam Ward really brings this game to life, I feel like I’m there”… not once have I heard, “Why isn’t Doris Burke calling this game again?”… not once have I heard, “They need to get rid of Gus Johnson and bring in someone with a less than desirable voice who barely knows anything about this sport”

This doesn’t mean that I am sexist towards men…. we have our TV and women have theirs… theres no need to raise a stink about it

And yes, if I were to complain about something to ESPN… it would most likely be about their female commentators or the fact that I will barely even watch ESPN during the NBA season… I am not impressed by seeing a highlight of 7′ men dunking on a 10′ hoop over and over… shit puts me to sleep almost as much as a female commentator

Although I will admit there is literally no one as bad as Cris Collinsworth… I think the only reason they brought him in was because they were like, “ok folks, John Madden is gone… now I know there is no one that can ever replace what John Madden means to football, but I think I know the guy that can replace his repulsiveness and boarder-line retarded comments… meet Mr. Collinsworth”
